My educational philosophy is ever changing and growing.  At this point in time, I base my philosophy around the way I view children as a whole.  I strongly believe in the idea that each child is different, learns differently, and has something unique to bring to the table.  It is my job as a teacher to recognize these differences and adjust my methods, or create all new methods, in order to maximize the potential of each individual student.  It will take extreme diligence to observe and document the children, but it is a worthwhile cause, in my opinion.

I also believe in the importance of play in an early childhood setting.  Giving kindergartners standardized tests and worksheets that drill information into their heads, only to be lost minutes later, just seems inappropriate to me.  Children learn so much through outside experiences, not just direct instruction.  I think it's important to let them explore their surroundings as long as they can.
